Description
The Blazingstar Peach is a round, firm-fleshed peach that ripens at the end of Redhaven season. It is 90% solid blazing red with delicious, non-browning yellow flesh. Very juicy, a “drip-down-your-chin” peach! Considered a semi-cling (although some growers refer to it as a freestone*). Available from Lehne Farms LLC (Roseburg), and grown using IPM growing methods.
*What’s the difference between “cling”, “semi-cling” and “freestone”? All these terms refer to the ease at which the pit of a peach (or any stone fruit, for that matter) can be removed from the fruit. “Cling” means the flesh and the pit are bonded (clingy, if you will!); “freestone” means the pit comes out cleanly, and is preferred by those who can, freeze, or otherwise process fruit, since the pit pops out with (usually) very litte effort; “semi-cling” falls somewhere in between, and usually the riper the fruit on a semi-cling, the easier the pit comes out.
