Is all this food REALLY Local?

Our partners are located as close as right here in Brookings, and no further than approximately 150 miles from Brookings. For more information about this, see our Local Food Partners page. With very few exceptions, NOTHING comes from further away than 150 miles, making this a truly local market!

What do you mean by your “100% Guarantee”?

We work tirelessly to ensure that customers are satisfied with every product they receive from us. If you are at all disappointed, please contact us as soon as possible (preferably within five days of receiving your order, and/or within 24 hours of having prepared the food in question) to let us know. We will not hesitate to refund you for that product when the situation warrants. Due to the perishable nature of some of our products, refunds for perishables are generally not extended more than five days after you’ve received your order. How do you keep the food fresh and/or frozen?

The produce will be boxed on the farms, transported to our shop in Brookings, and delivered to you, all within 48 hours of harvesting to guarantee freshness. During the winter months, there are a few items called “cold-storage items” (example: onions, beets, winter squash) which are stored according to specific freshness guidelines (i.e. dry rooms at temps near 45 degrees) through the late winter.

Frozen products and Dairy products will be packed in insulated bags and/or with cold paks and delivered within a few hours of packing.

What happens when I open an Account with OtterBee’s Market©?

By registering with OtterBee’s Market©, you are joining our email list to receive updates about logistics, pricing, etc. and you are able to begin shopping for delicious, local products! There is no fee to open an account, and you only need to fill out the registration form once. Remember to check the box for our weekly email when you first open your account, so you can start getting the Tuesday morning order reminder.

I want you to ship product to me, but your website won’t let me choose that option. What’s wrong?

We offer LOCAL DELIVERY ONLY to three towns in our immediate area: Brookings, Oregon; Gold Beach, Oregon; and Smith River, California. We do not ship product. However, you can try contacting the producer of whatever you’re trying to order and ask them to sell and ship to you. Some of our producers DO ship outside this area, but not all do. Please contact the producer directly via this link – Local Food Partners – to ask them about that option.

What if I run into problems when I’m trying to order? What do I do?

Occasionally, our website, like every other website, slows down, has a glitch, and/or otherwise doesn’t operate as normal. If you run into ANY PROBLEMS during your visit to OtterBee’s, all you have to do is call (541-661-1385) or email (contact@otterbeesmarket.com), and we’ll do everything we can to take care of it!

Unlike large, corporate buying sites, our CUSTOMER SERVICE is truly local, same as our product – so when you call, you talk directly to the owner of OtterBee’s, Kathleen Dickson…me. Of course, you may get my voice mail, or it may take me a bit to respond to your email, but I PROMISE YOU, I will respond! If I can fix it, I will; if I can’t immediately fix it, I have people I can reach out to who CAN fix it and, in the meantime, I’ll figure out a work-around so your order can get placed. (For instance, we’ve been known to go old-school when we have to!)

The point is, if you have problems, please don’t give up! Just call or email us, and we’ll figure out a solution. Our stellar customer service is one of the main reasons our customers shop with us, and we’ll do everything we can to maintain that trust.

What information do we collect? We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our weekly email, or respond to a survey. We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway provider’s database, only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Do we use cookies? We do not use cookies.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties? We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
