Description
This Red Curly Kale is grown by Valley Flora Farm (Langlois) and Ocean Air Farms (Ft. Dick, CA), and offered by one or the other , depending on the time of year. Both growers farm using organic practices.
Similar to Green Curly, Red Curly Kale has deeply lobed and heavily frilled dark green leaves, but with contrasting magenta veins. Deep reddish-purple leaf color develops with cold weather.
Tender enough to cut and add to salads; also great for cooking, with a full “kale” flavor. To store: rinse, pat dry, and store in the bottom crisper drawer wrapped in paper towels.
