Description
Grown by Pistol River Pepper People (Pistol River) and Valley Flora Farm (Langlois), both of whom use organic practices, these Artichokes are on the small size (about the size of the palm of your hand), but are still very delicious!
The peak season for artichoke harvesting is the spring (May and early June here on the coast), but they can continue to be harvested throughout the summer, with another peak period in mid autumn. When harvested, they are cut from the plant so as to leave an inch or two of stem. Artichokes possess good keeping qualities, frequently remaining quite fresh for two weeks or longer under average retail conditions.
