Description
The Asian “Beauty” Plum is one of the richest-flavored Japanese plums, reminiscent of Santa Rosa Plums, with a wonderful blend of sweet and tart that melts in your mouth. Grown by Smith River Organic Farm (Smith River), using organic practices.
These are bright red, medium-sized fruit with amber-streaked, red flesh, and was one of developer Luther Burbank’s favorites of his plum varieties. An heirloom clingstone fruit (meaning the flesh “clings” to the pit, vs. freestone, where the pit comes away from the fruit freely), introduced in 1911. Sold by the pound, with approximately 4-6 per pound.
