The Suncrest Peach is described lovingly by David Masumoto in his excellent book “Epitaph for a Peach” as one of the last remaining truly juicy peaches. (Although this peach is not really old, it is rarely offered in grocery stores anymore.) Suncrest peach trees produce large, round freestone peaches with a bright red blush over yellow skin. Suncrest Peaches have yellow flesh with an exceptionally firm texture, but very juicy with good flavor.
Grown by Norm Lehne Garden & Orchard (Roseburg) using IPM growing methods. This variety is picked in early August and is great for everything: eating, canning, freezing, drying.
