If you haven’t heard of Kabocha Winter Squash, now’s the time to get to know this tasty Japanese variety. Kabocha have a fluffy texture similar to chestnut and a sweet flavor that tastes like sweet potato mixed with pumpkin. Plus, they’re packed with beta carotene, iron and vitamin C.
Our Kabocha Winter Squash are approximately 3 pounds each – perfect as a side dish for a family of 4. Valley Flora Farm (Langlois) and Lehne Farms LLC (Roseburg) both grow these using organic practices, and your squash will come from one farm or the other, as noted above. Note: they’re one of the best keepers – you can easily store a Kabocha in your pantry for 4-6 months!
