Description
Both Glen at Lehne Farm LLC (Roseburg) and Zoe at Valley Flora Farm (Langlois) grow these cabbages (using organic practices), which are some of the sweetest, most tender, most AWESOME cabbages that can be grown these days. The true name of this variety is “Caraflex”, but I like “Conehead” better, so that’s what we go with! (They sure look like Dan Aykroyd’s “Beldar” from the Saturday Night Live skits back in the 70’s, don’t you think?) 🙂
The heads are nice and tight, come to a point, and average anywhere from 2 to 4 pounds each. Store in the bottom crisper drawer wrapped in paper towels. If the outer leaves get wilted, just peel them off – the rest of the head will still be nice and fresh. Use just like your standard round cabbage.
