Description

Flavorful Greek Seasoning is perfect for a variety of dishes (see the recipe below as one idea). And as a bonus: this blend is made without all the preservatives and fillers found in store-bought spice mixes! Each net wt. 2 oz. package contains basic spices and natural flavorings.

Created by Chris & Liz Hendrickson of Teas, Tinctures & Tonics (North Bend), utilizing local, farm-fresh ingredients that go into their dehydrator or freeze dryer and are then stored in glass jars until package for retail. Not only do they procure their ingredients as often as possible from local farms, they also grow many of the ingredients themselves, utilizing both soil and hydroponic methods at their micro farm.

There are no anti-caking agents, fillers, or preservatives in these blends. The Hendricksons go by the old saying, ” If you can’t grow it or farm it, you probably shouldn’t eat it!”

Ingredients: Mediterranean Oregano, Onion, Garlic, Nutmeg, Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Parsley, Korintje Cinnamon

Greek Tacos with Dill Sauce

1 pound ground round or ground lamb
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons Teas, Tinctures & Tonics Greek Seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
1/2 cup grape or cherry tomatoes cut into halves
1 cup fresh spinach, stems removed and discarded
3 tablespoons feta cheese
6 mini pocket breads
1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dill Weed

Instructions: Cook ground round, onions and garlic in skillet over medium-high heat stirring until beef is browned. Drain meat of any excess fat. Add Greek seasoning and cumin to the meat and blend well. Stir in tomatoes and spinach and cook over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes (this allows tomatoes to become juicy and spinach to soften). Cut pocket breads in half and spoon meat mixture into each. Makes 6 servings.
