Description
This is a mix of the difference Summer Squashes that High Prairie Farm (Brookings) is growing this year. You can order by the pound, or save a bit and order a 2-lb. bag! Varieties can include:
Patty Pan: also known as “star” or “scallop” squash, an heirloom, buttery, olive-oil flavor
Eight Ball: green, white or yellow, anywhere from 2 to 4 inches in size, nutty, buttery flavor
Crookneck: mild, slightly sweet, buttery, nutty flavor, with slightly bitter notes
Yellow Straight: mild-tasting with a hint of vegetable sweetness
This mix make for a very pretty side dish of white, yellow and green squashes in various shapes and sizes. Grown using organic methods. Store your squashes in your crisper and wait to wash them until just before you use them. These will keep for at least a week, maybe longer.
