“Fantasia” is my absolute favorite nectarine! It’s wonderfully juicy, with a “sweet but tangy” flavor, a beautiful red skin and bright yellow flesh – exactly what you’d expect a nectarine to be.
Like other nectarines, Fantasia is a close relative of the peach, genetically identical except that it lacks the gene for peach fuzz. It is a freestone (meaning the pit doesn’t cling to the inner flesh but comes out easily), and is ideal for canning, freezing, and eating fresh!
