Fresh Dill (aka “dillweed”) is used primarily as a garnish, as cooking causes it to lose flavor. (When you do use it in cooked dishes, just be sure to wait to add it until the end of the cooking process.) Use fresh dill in green salads; with cooked peas or carrots; or to top seafood or in potato salad. You can use it to decorate various dishes for some extra color and a unique aroma. Even as a light garnish or decoration, dill can have a strong impact on a dish because of its powerful aroma. Grown using organic methods by Norm Lehne Garden & Orchard (Roseburg).
Store your dill in the refrigerator in a resealable plastic bag, keeping the air inside, for up to a week. You can also place the stems standing up in a glass or jar filled with a few inches of water and covered with a plastic bag.
